Time to register your Science Festival workshop

On October 23th we had the opportunity to recognize the valuable volunteers and presenters from this year, at that time we kicked-off the preparation of the South Shore Science Festival V scheduled on April 13th, 2019.

The key to success of the festival has been your presentations and workshops. Every time we have more and more presenters that want to be part of it.

Thus, we ask you to please take a few minutes of your busy week and register your workshop, presentation or booth.

If you have different activities, such as a booth and a presentation in a classroom, please register each one individually.

Here is the link to register your activity:

STEM / STEAM

Are you familiar with the STEM, or STEAM, approach to teaching?  It aims to integrate Science, Technology, Engineering, the Arts, and Mathematics.  It steps away from the traditional textbook-only, single-subject approach to show the relationships among these areas.

Science and math have practical applications by bringing in engineering and technology.  The arts, including music, are based on the science of light and color as well as sound, and much more.  This broad-based approach will reach more students with all their different ranges of strengths.

Every week we will be presenting a flavor of the festival, opportunities for you to be part of it, and a sample of recent technology we offered. In addition, we will suggest some STEM events happening in this area.

Great Success at our Volunteer Recognition Event 2017!

Another Great Success at our Volunteer Recognition Event!

Thank you to all the presenters and volunteers who came , and we also appreciate the company of Massachusetts Representative Tackey Chan who joined us, too.

A good time was had by all.  Each of the participants shared their experience from this past April and you could sense eagerness to be part of the next South Shore Science Festival — our 4th — in 2018.  Getting to know each other this way is not only a positive thing for the festival itself, it’s fun.

Thank you also to our Recognition Event Sponsors: Dassault Systems, Gateway to Science: Sports & Games and Positive BCS
